Wharton Global Youth Location-Based Program
This is the last part of a three-part series on Wharton Global Youth Summer Programs.
The Wharton Global Youth Program provides a plethora of educational programs. The programs inspire pre-collegiate students to explore business practices, analyze the world’s complex challenges, and take the first steps in becoming leaders who will transform the global economy. The students have a choice of various options. All participants who successfully complete the program earn a Wharton Global Youth Certificate of Completion.
They can participate in On-Campus, Online, or Location-based Programs.
Wharton Global Youth Location-Based Program
San Francisco, CA: Innovation and Startup Culture
San Francisco, CA: Innovation and Startup Culture is an intensive two-week summer program. During this program, the students learn the strategies successful entrepreneurs use to generate new ideas and develop them into disruptive high-growth ventures.
The students work in teams and generate a new business idea, assess its profit potential, build an innovative model, and test and iterate as they drive toward product-market fit. On “Pitch Day”, students present their venture to investors and entrepreneurs of the South Bay Area.

Cambridge, UK: Strategy and International Management
Cambridge, UK: Strategy and International Management is a comprehensive two-week program about the core concepts of management and international business. The students are asked to prepare university-level business cases that introduce a company’s management challenges and invite students to propose solutions. Participants gain a sense of how to approach case analysis and how to learn about general business theories by dissecting specific real-world cases. The students work in teams to solve Ivy League business cases and simulations and apply strategy and international management frameworks to contemporary businesses to solve problems. The students also get an opportunity to compete in a final-day case competition that is evaluated by a panel of judges from across the industry.

Admissions
The Wharton Youth Global Program is highly selective. Applicants may apply to more than one program. A new application is required for each program. Every program has a different set of essays, supplemental materials, and eligibility criteria. The applications will not be reviewed only after the submission of all materials. The applications and supplemental materials should be submitted on the Summer Discovery platform.
Eligibility Requirements:
GPA: High school students require a minimum of 3.3 unweighted GPA. A minimum of 3.5 unweighted GPA is preferred for the Leadership in the Business World and the Management and Technology Summer Institute.
High School Transcripts: The applicants are required to upload unofficial transcripts with at least two marking periods of grades.
Standardized Test Scores: PSAT, and SAT/ACT scores are optional

This program is for students who are enrolled in grades 9-11 and who have a genuine interest in bringing an idea/product, service, or business to life.
Cambridge, UK: Strategy and International Management
This program is for students who are currently enrolled in grades 10 and 11. The students should demonstrate an understanding of economics or business.

All programs require a recommendation letter from a high school guidance counselor, teacher, or advisor. The applicants should enter the recommender’s contact information directly into the application system. The number of recommendation letters varies by the program as given below:
