The university’s reach extends far beyond the United States, as the admitted class represents all 50 states, including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the Mariana Islands, the Marshall Islands, and the US Virgin Islands. Additionally, Columbia attracts global talent, with students hailing from 101 countries, fostering a truly international community.

The university’s commitment to need-based financial aid shines through, with approximately half of the admitted students offered financial support. Regardless of citizenship, Columbia pledges to meet 100 percent of demonstrated need for all first-year students. Meanwhile, those who took the early decision route enjoyed a higher acceptance rate of 10.31 percent, comprising 43.6 percent of the incoming class. The admissions office diligently processed 54,072 regular decision applications, ultimately extending offers to 1,603 promising students.

Early decision applicants, on the other hand, were met with a more favorable acceptance rate of 10.1 percent, constituting 43.5 percent of the incoming class. Among the 54,116 regular decision applications received, 1,568 deserving individuals received the much-awaited news of their acceptance.
